“1+2” / ”1+3” Pre-master Program/Master Program, Ph.D Program

  • The “1+2” Pre-master Program has a schooling system of 3 years. In the first year, program students take Chinese language courses; and from the second to the third year, program students take courses for professional master.

  • The “1+3” Pre-master Program has a schooling system of 4 years. In the first year, program students take Chinese language courses; and from the second to the forth year, program students take courses for academic master.

  • The master program has a schooling system of 2 or 3 years. Professional Master has a schooling system of 2 years. Academic Master has a schooling system of 3 years.Ph.D Program has a schooling system of 3 years.  

   

  (1)Application Prerequisites
      • Applicants for “1+2” / “1+3” Pre-master Program or Master Program must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport, and have attained a bachelor’s degree.
      • Applicants for Ph.D Program must be non-Chinese citizens with a valid passport, and have attained a master’s degree. Applicants must be non-Chinese without any criminal record or bad credit and must have reliable and stable economic guarantee.
      • Other prerequisites: Please refer to SWUPL Provisional Regulations on the Enrollment of International Students for Master’s and Doctoral Degrees.

 

  (2)Application Documents
      • Application Form for International Student of Southwest University of Political Science and Law, available at:

      • Graduation certificate and degree diploma (students expecting to graduate should provide an official letter stating expected graduation date); must be original documents or certified copies either in Chinese or English.
      • Transcript of undergraduate or postgraduate study (original documents or certified copies in Chinese or English).
      • Personal statement (CV, Research Plan).
      • Copy of passport, 8 recent photos (white background, in passport size).
      • Study plan or research proposal in Chinese or English . Published academic papers or other academic achievements (original or photocopy if any).
      • Two recommendation letters from your professors or other referees in relevant fields.
      • Certificate for HSK Level 4 or above for Chinese taught programs; IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 550 or equivalence for English taught program (No need for native English-speaking applicants).
      • Original documents or photocopy of physical examination record for foreigner (issued by a public hospital in applicant’s home country or a Class-A hospital in China).
      • Other documents required by the specific school or department the applicant applies to.

 

  (3)Time table of Recruitment
      • Time for application : March to May and September to November every year.
      • Time for Applicant Assessment : June/December every year.
      • Time for Admission: January/July every year.Time for Enrollment : March or September every year.
